Use homeowner information only for the submitted request
Homeowner information received from Local HVAC Match may be used only to respond to the specific HVAC request or direct message delivered to your company. It is not a general marketing list.
The standards HVAC companies must follow whenever Local HVAC Match provides homeowner contact information.
These rules apply to every routed homeowner lead and every direct profile message delivered through Local HVAC Match.
Receiving a lead or direct message through Local HVAC Match does not create general marketing permission. The rules below are a condition of receiving homeowner information through the marketplace.
Homeowner information received from Local HVAC Match may be used only to respond to the specific HVAC request or direct message delivered to your company. It is not a general marketing list.
Do not sell, license, forward, or otherwise distribute homeowner contact information to another contractor or use it for unrelated solicitation. Any separate use requires its own lawful basis and, when required, the homeowner’s permission.
If the request identifies a preferred first contact method—call, text, or email—use that method first when practical. A homeowner may change that preference at any time.
Contact the homeowner as your own HVAC company, not as Local HVAC Match. Make clear that you are following up on the HVAC request or direct message the homeowner submitted through the site.
Local HVAC Match authorization does not give permission for unrelated promotional campaigns, ongoing marketing lists, prerecorded messages, or artificial or AI-generated voice telemarketing. Contractors are responsible for obtaining and documenting any separate permission required for those activities.
As an operating rule, do not make telemarketing calls outside 8:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. local time at the homeowner’s location unless the homeowner specifically requests another time. Repeated contact attempts must not become harassing or excessive.
If a homeowner says to stop, asks not to be contacted, withdraws the request, or otherwise revokes permission, stop contacting that homeowner about the Local HVAC Match request or message. Notify Local HVAC Match so the request record can be updated.
Use reasonable safeguards for homeowner information. Do not expose it publicly, and do not keep it longer than reasonably necessary for the request and legitimate business or recordkeeping obligations.
Local HVAC Match provides the homeowner request and records marketplace authorization. Each contractor remains responsible for the laws and rules that apply to its own calls, texts, emails, advertising, privacy practices, and sales process.
A contractor is not eligible to receive routed leads until acceptance of the current Contractor Contact Rules is recorded. These same rules also govern homeowner information received through direct profile messages.
